OUR history
Howdy! Welcome to the Texas A&M University LULAC council! LULAC stands for League of United Latin American Citizens, a national organization founded on February 17, 1929 in Corpus Christi, Texas with the mission to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States.
Coming from the humble city of San Antonio, Aric Herrera '25 initially became involved in LULAC by starting a youth council through his high school at Ronald Reagan alongside Rafael Jimenez '25 and Alan Hernandez '25. Through various service initatives, they were able to serve their community locally through Easter Egg basket drives, volunteering at Fiesta, and even helping out with the US Census. They eventually made their way to Texas A&M for university where they wanted to help serve the community again at the collegiate level to help make a difference here in the Bryan/College Station area.
